So apparently a disgruntled developer hacked the account FinarX uses to send out product announcements and said that FinarX was now going to be known as akoapps --- no real mention as to why, but presumably because of a trademark / name issue.
Fine - the app looked exactly the same... but "unfortunately" me as the consumer would have to "buy" the app again for a nominal $1 upgrade fee -- which unlocked ALL of the features (export, DB backup, rounding, etc.) --- fine... what do I really care.
I love the app, my timekeeping is dependent on it --- so I need to switch over and spend $1 - done.
Nearly 2 weeks after this notice... the guys over at FinarX say "apparently you received a bogus email saying...." ---
Got it -- some sort of internal issue and a developer has stolen the code.
Personally, I think Apple should maybe step in and assist sorting things out --- there is definitely something goofy at work at BOTH companies -- buyer beware!
FinarX and akoapps -- shame on one / both / each of you --- do the right thing!
